I only learned about the NBA Jam Rule a year and a half ago. Since then, I have seen it in home games everywhere. It is also now a favorite among my friends. The NBA Jam Rule is a fun way to spice up a Beer Pong game.
It is pretty simple in concept. NBA Jam states, if a player hits two consecutive cups, they must say they are ‘heating up’ and upon a player hitting a their third consecutive cup, they say they are ‘on fire.’ If they declare they are on fire they then earn a special bonus stage. The regular game is temporarily on pause and the shooter gets a rebuttal style shoot-till-miss on the opponents cups.

Despite the massive heat wave striking Long Island the LastCupStanding.com Tournaments at the Twisted Shamrock continue. On June 9th we had an eight person singles competition. It was the die hard fans of Beer Pong who competed this week. In an interesting turn of events, the randomly selected matches for the first round pitted many friends versus each other. Clark beat out LaLima, Hart took Romanitch, Cooper came from 3-1 behind to beat O’shanesea (a great female player), but as the rounds progressed it was newcomer Jim Chinese who made it to the finals and beat Cooper to take the prize. Cooper a member of last weeks Car Ramrod has managed to make it to the finals for the last two weeks.
The Twisted Shamrock, conveniently located next to the Babylon Train Station, will be hosting Tournaments for LastCupStanding.com every Monday all summer long. If you think you got what it takes come down and show us what you got.
Three player beer pong? That’s crazy talk. But no, I managed to find a way. It comes out of those sad nights where you really want to play but its a week night and you can only find two willing souls to drink with work looming on the horizon. I know it’s pathetic but it happens sometimes. Some people just don’t put beer pong first. Now normally you play regular 1 v 1 beer pong rotating with winner staying on the table. This is well and good but the non participant is left with little else to do but watch the game. This is where Odd Man Out beer pong comes in.

Now I know what your thinking. How hard can that be? But as recent events have continued too show it is ever important. As noted in my Beer Pong Basics Article I spent a lot of time training many a good partner and yet last week I found my self at a nearby frat party and partnerless. I ended up with a girl who was said to be good and I am sure on other days she might have been but the one cup she hit did not help me make it out of the first round of the tourney. Any port in a storm is not a philosophy that works with beer pong partners and this is why this is today’s article topic.

Not everyone is a natural at Beer Pong. I wasn’t, but I got to be really good through a lot of drinking and a lot of playing. There was even a time when I was in the quest for a solid beer pong partner no matter where I was. That mission involved me training many players in the art of beer pong and I got to be good at it. I have trained several dozen people and many of which have become very solid players. So if you think that your beer pong game could use a little work or you’re tired of your partners making jokes about their back hurting from carrying the team. Look at them and say “Who throws out their back playing beer pong!” and if you practice these techniques I am positive you will see a marked improvement in your game.

The field was diverse. Teams “Trainwreck” and “Natural Blonde?” showed us all some girl power with their blistering performance and gave us faith that good looking female beer pong players exist. There was also good showings from “The Digheads”, “Those Guys”, “Ice Holes”, and “Asian + 1″.
